Hi-Res brings the expansive practice of creativity and community into focus
Hi-Res explores the many ways that artists, designers, writers, organizers, and more create connection through creative expression. We are building a community around a shared love of visual culture through our publications and our curated programming.
We launched in 2024 with an 8-page, 1-color zine that we printed at a mom & pop copy shop in Chula Vista, CA.
Since then Hi-Res Magazine has grown into a 44-page, full-color publication that documents the multidisciplinary art and creative culture in San Diego, CA, and Tijuana, BC. We’ve produced three full issues to date, each featuring the work of over 60 artists and projects with original essays and editorial features.
In 2026 we launched our live storytelling series, Hi-Res First Thursdays at San Diego Made, to amplify the stories of even more artists and creatives from our community.
Hi-Res is created, curated, and led by Stacey Edelstein, a San Diego-based creative director and community organizer of over 10 years. Connect with Stacey on IG at @stacey_edelstein.
We are an independent, self-funded project.
Hi-Res First Thursdays
On the first Thursday of the month you can find us at the San Diego Made Factory in Logan Heights, where we gather to hear live stories from local creatives and create space for community to connect.
This monthly series is the work of an independent collective of individual artists and small businesses who love our community and believe in the power of connection. We want to show some love for:
